Luke Passmore Obituary
LUKE GERALD PASSMORE
Luke Gerald Passmore, age 61 of Mio, Michigan, passed away in his sleep on October 3, 2025, in St. Clairsville, OH, where he had been working.
Luke was born in West Branch, Michigan, on May 26, 1964, to Gerald and MaryAnn (Bakita) Passmore. He was raised in Mio, Michigan, and graduated from Mio AuSable High School in May of 1982.
Luke's career as a Journeyman Lineman began in 1992 with Consumers Power Company in Rose City, Michigan, where he remained until 2008. His work took him to Iraq, working for IAP (Worldwide Services & International lineman work) from 2009 to 2013.
From there, Luke spent a year with Novinium out of Denver, Colorado, specializing in underground and overhead power. In the fall of 2017, he hired on as a traveling Lineman for Wolf Line Construction with assignments throughout Michigan, South Carolina, and Ohio. Management quickly recognized his wealth of knowledge and experience, and he was promoted to Foreman. Assigned to all new apprentices, Luke was proud of having trained more than 100 guys. He was a hard worker and was widely respected for his technical and leadership skills.
Luke loved to watch NASCAR and Indy racing, MMA fights, and football, with a particular fondness for the Detroit Lions. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, golfing, and cherished time with family. Despite his years of work-related travel, he maintained daily contact with his siblings, as well as his boys.
Luke is survived by two sons, Cole Steven Passmore and Jakob George Passmore, as well as his brother Jeff (Jan) Passmore and two sisters, Carla (Roger) Benedict and Karen (John) McPheeters. He has numerous nieces and nephews who loved him. He will be very missed by all his family and friends.
A graveside burial and gathering to honor and celebrate Luke's life will be announced at a later date, to be held in Mio, Michigan, in the summer of 2026.
