Long time San Pedro resident Bill Boysen passed away December 8th. He was a kind, gracious, and hard-working person who loved his family. A devoted husband to his wife, Ruth, he was committed to their marriage and showed the true meaning of love. His sons, Eric and Andrew, always knew he wanted them to live full, productive lives of their choosing. To others fortunate enough to be friends, neighbors, or colleagues with Bill, he was known to be a well-meaning and giving person who projected positive energy and optimism. Born in San Francisco, July 19, 1944, to Florence and Raymond Boysen, Bill lived in different places as a youth before settling in San Pedro. One of these places was Hawaii which bonded his love for the ocean. He was a successful electrical contractor and a pioneer with solar energy sources which were often experimented with at his home. He loved travel, gardening, animals, hiking, photography, and watching the Dodgers. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ruth, his sons, his sisters, his nephews, and his grandchildren. He will be truly missed, but his example as a wonderful human being will live in those who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on February 18th at Wayfarer's Chapel followed by a celebration of life lunch at 12:00 pm at the Doubletree Hotel in San Pedro. Please RSVP for lunch to [email protected]
