12 January 1935 - 10 December 2021 With a mix of grief and joy, we announce the passing of our beloved Mother and Grandmother, who passed peacefully in her sleep at the age of 86 on December 10, 2021. We experience grief having lost the center of our family, but joy, in knowing that Mom has lovingly and eternally joined our father, her husband of 50 years, William Howard Lawrence. Born in El Centro CA, Mom moved to Inglewood as a teenager after her father retired from the grocery wholesale business. An Alum of Inglewood High and UCLA, Mom and Dad met as students at UCLA. The story goes that Mom's date at a fraternity party got drunk and Dad chivalrously offered to drive her home. A 63 year resident of the Peninsula, Mom came to PV with Dad despite their coworkers labeling their decision as "crazy." They were early and long-term members of Saint Peter's by the Sea Presbyterian Church. As the center of our family, mom raised 3 sons as a stay-at-home mom. Inaugural editor of the Soleado Sundial, PTA President, Team Mom and Scorekeeper for our Rolling Hills Little League teams,"stay-at-home" was hardly the phrase as she touched so many in our community with her bright spark. As we boys approached college age, Mom courageously returned to school after a 20 year break. With a 4.0 GPA, she earned a second Bachelor's Degree from CSU Dominguez Hills in Accounting while in her 40's. Passing the CPA exam on her first try led to a 30 plus year career. Her many long-term clients valued her reliability and her forthright integrity. Post retirement, she volunteered as Treasurer for the South Bay chapter of NAMI. Mom loved to play Bridge and create quilts. She was so grateful to her dear Bridge and Quilting friends. Mom thoroughly enjoyed looking after her 4 school age grandchildren and hosting family events. Active to the end, we discovered an unfinished quilting project in her kitchen the afternoon she passed. Mom, you touched us with your cheerful smile, your warm welcomes, your delicious cooking and most of all, your unconditional love. We will forever miss you. Survived by sons Steven, Michael and Robert Lawrence; daughters-in-law Yulia, Rachel and Joyce; grandchildren Timothy, Joshua, Abigail, Ethan, Steven Jr, and LeAnn, she is predeceased by her husband, William Lawrence, parents Edna and Emmett Clements; brothers William, George and Stanley Clements, and her first son, David Lawrence. Memorial Services will be held at 1 pm on January 21, 2022 at Green Hills Mortuary in Rancho Palos Verdes. In lieu of flowers, we request that any donations be sent to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill South Bay Chapter at NAMI South Bay, PO Box 5295, Torrance, CA 90510

I´m so sorry for your families loss of your mother. Reading her obituary written by the family with so much compassion, just beautiful. I don´t know the family, I only wanted to offer my sympathies.
