June 6, 1958 - June 16, 2021 With heavy hearts the family of John Keith Barrington announce his peaceful passing at home, with his beloved family at his side. John was born in Torrance, CA to John Abner Barrington and Joyce Fowler. After graduating from Torrance High School, John attended and graduated from San Diego State University, where he met his wife of 39 years, Maura Meagher. After college, John returned to Torrance with Maura, where they raised their two daughters, Jamie and Michelle. John worked at the Barrington family business for over 30 years, before joining Northrop Grumman for the last 13 years of his career. Throughout this time, John spent countless hours volunteering as a coach for little league, basketball, AYSO and club soccer. He was a member of the Hollywood Riviera Sportsman's Club, supporting local schools and youth sports. During his youth, John enjoyed playing multiple sports, including football, wrestling and baseball, while always finding time for the perfect wave. John also had a love for playing guitar and teaching others, BBQing, perfecting his famous chili recipe, as well as making sure he was fully equipped for any medical emergency or disaster that could arise. John is survived by his wife Maura, children Jamie (Andrew) and Michelle (Isaac) and grandchildren Shaillion and Tessa, as well as his siblings: Lesley Burnett, Claudia Roberts (predeceased), Stacy Jones (Greg), and Jay Barrington (Susan), and numerous nephews, nieces and further extended family. Services will be held on July 17, 2021 at 11:30am at Green Hills Memorial Park, with a reception to follow at John's favorite place, his home. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the youth sports organization of your choice.

We loved John to pieces - always loving, loyal, generous, kind, and thoughtful. He was the best! We miss him so much already. We love your family, and we´re here for you all if you need anything or simply want to spend some time. We love you, JB. Thanks for helping to get Mark´s truck out of the muddy sinkhole at the Salton Sea!
