Mark Bullington
February 7, 1957 - June 1, 2021 Mark passed away unexpectedly during the night on June 1, 2021. He spent his last day watching a Steve McQueen documentary and kept saying what a great man he was. Mark, too, was a great man. Mark passed away peacefully. Mark was born February 7, 1957 in Hawthorne, CA. He attended Newton Elementary School and South High School in Torrance, CA. Mark loved the South Bay and never wanted to leave. It was his safe place and he felt he belonged there more than anyplace else. He loved the beach that held fond memories for him and his brother Barry who would take him along surfing when Mark was a young child. He loved nothing better than walking along the Esplanade talking to people with his positive outlook always parting with "Have Fun". He made friends wherever he went and left them laughing where he had been. He loved watching the hawks that nested in nearby trees, cooking everything in vintage cast iron and dreaming of road trips that had no destination only the journey. He embraced the funky in life wanting to see things that had not been seen by others and then elaborating to make them even more amazing. He leaves behind his life partner Andrea Desantis of Torrance, CA; his brother Brett Bullington (Diana) of Palo Alto, CA; his nephew Kyle of Venice, CA; his niece Brooke of Chapel Hill, NC; his sister Margaret Sandoval of Oxnard, CA; his nephew Stephan Sandoval (Alicia) of Piru, CA, his nephew Jason Sandoval of Hermosa Beach, CA and a large loving extended family and many lifelong friends including his "Good Buddy" Larry Holt. He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Virginia Bullington and his brothers Barry and John. Mark loved to get up and take off for an early morning walk to the beach and beyond. His dream was to hike the Camino de Santiage and we believe he is there right now doing just that. He is loved and he is missed.

Dear Andrea - we were so surprised and saddened to read Mark´s obituary in today´s paper. What a lovely write-up, caught his open spirit and happy character perfectly!! We miss you in the neighborhood - and had so enjoyed running into him at Pt Vicente and on the Esplanade. Our hearts are with you at this time. You know we´d love to be able to give you a hug. Loving thoughts, Brian & Joann
