Richard M. Mora was born on April 30, 1953 to Richard and Stella Mora. He passed away on October 27, 2021 at the age of 68. He graduated from Narbonne High School in 1971. Richard served in the Army for 20 years. He worked with the Recruiting Support Command and was an MP. He trained bomb and drug dogs, and most enjoyed being a Staff Sergeant in charge of his K-9 Unit. His career took him all over the world. He loved telling stories about how he grew up, sharing those memories with anyone who would listen. He cared so deeply about those around him. He would give what he could, and always stood up for what he believed in. He could light up a room with his laugh, and was always cracking jokes. He loved to cruise along the beach and watch his Dodgers play ball. Preceded in death by his father, Richard (Dick), and his youngest brother Victor, he is survived by his mother, Stella; his loving wife Elena; his daughters Samantha and Fallan, and their mother Loren. He was blessed with two grandchildren, Camil and Levi; and is also survived by his sisters Berna (Monty), Cea (Steve), and brother Mario (Regina). Memorial mass will be held Friday, November 19, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 1292 W. Santa Cruz St, San Pedro. Interment to follow at Green Hills Mortuary, 27501 S. Western Ave, Rancho Palos Verdes.

I'm the new guy in the family so my memories only go back 25 years. Dickie is a good man. He was very kind to my son who had just lost his mother. At Cea's, (his sister) 40th birthday party he sat with Steve and he seemed very caring as he listened and talked to my son. I even caught a glimpse of the two of them crying together. This was my first impression of Dickie and I loved him like a brother. My brother-in-law was very generous and giving. I told him I really liked his Hawaiian-style Dodgers shirt when we went to a Dodger game and when he disappeared one inning he came back from the concession stand and handed me a brand new shirt like his. At our annual Halloween party Dickie love being the center of attention as he handed out candy. He had fun talking to each trick-or-treater and each one became his new friend. Richard was great around all the kids. He was blessed to see the birth of Camil and Levi, his grandchildren and the latest additions to the Mora family. On another occasion he stood out when he wore his dress "Class A" Army uniform to my wedding to his sister, Cea. Richard served 20 years in the Army with pride and dignity. Thank you for your service brother. So when you are sad and miss Dickie so much it hurts, think of the memories and he will bring a smile to your face. His life was full and we were all blessed to have known him.

I just saw Richard last month at our Narbonne High School 50th reunion. It was a shock to hear that someone so full of life had passed away a month later! I've known the Moras all of my life. I grieve for him and for my friends Berna, Cea, Mario, and their mom Stella. I also grieve for all of his family as he has left a hole in their hearts that is irreplaceable. Our sincere condolences to the Mora family on the loss of Richard. He was a part of the Sanchez family for almost all of our lives. He was cool and reserved, but had a humorous side that he kept hidden-until he got to know you. May fond memories of Richard bring you smiles and give you comfort and peace. Rest in eternal peace, dear friend.

Dear Mora family, we extend our deepest sympathy at the loss of your son, brother, husband, and father. Richard was like a brother to my brother, Sam, which made him family. Throughout the years, he always made time to visit my parents, especially on Christmas Eve where we would catch up over a plate of tamales. Hearing his boisterous laugh and booming voice, you knew Richard was in the house. He always treated our family with respect and everything he did came from the heart. He will be greatly missed. Sending you all love and hugs.
