Bill Lack

March 8, 1956 - December 5, 2025

Bill Lack, 69, of Moline, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, at OSF Richard Owen Hospice Home, Peoria.

Bill was born on March 8, 1956, in Iola, Kan. to Bill and Jeanette Lack (Heffern). He attended Colona Grade School and was a 1974 graduate of United Township High School. In his early years he was employed at Friendship Farm and Deutz Tractor Supply. Bill was later employed for 26 years as a warehouse and production worker for Dayco Corporation in Rock Island and Parker Co. in Davenport. He retired early in 2012 because of a disability.

Bill enjoyed participating in and watching sports. Growing up in Colona Bill was active playing basketball, baseball, tennis, and running. He especially enjoyed participating in pick-up basketball games at Gailliaert's Park with his friends.

He was a daily regular at the former Rock Valley Athletic Club working out, playing basketball and tennis, and supporting his favorite teams on the big screen TV in the lounge. He was a huge Chicago Bears fan. His favorite players were Dick Butkus and Walter Payton. In the past couple of years, he became a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball team and Indiana Fever. Even when Bill's health declined, he tried to exercise as often as possible at the YMCA and Larsen Cardio Center.

Bill is survived by Tawnya (Brian) Aprati, who he embraced and loved as his daughter, Orland Park, Ill.; and grandchildren, Haleigh and Brayden; his sister, Jennifer Anderson, East Moline; brothers, Rick (Denise) Lack, Colona, Jerry (Cathy) Lack, East Moline, Dave (Lillimore) Lack, Lake Harmony, Pa., Jack Lack, Colona, Robert Lack, Dell Rapids, S.D., and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Robert Winterbottom; sister, Lisa Lack, and brother-in-law, David Anderson.

Yesterday

So sorry Lack family. I remember growing up and playing with Bill and his brothers when we lived next door to each other. May our Lord and Savior look over you all during this time of sadness.
