ALPHA-Mr. Brian M. Caulkins, 62, of Alpha, Illinois died 11:33 a.m. Thursday, January 13, 2022 at his home.
He was born November 16, 1959 in Moline, Illinois to Alva and Virginia (Reiber) Caulkins.
Surviving are two sons, Tory Caulkins of Rock Island, Illinois and Joshua Caulkins of Oakboro, North Carolina, a daughter, Taylor Caulkins of Alexis, Illinois, two sisters, Diane Caulkins of Alpha and Rebecca (and John) Whitten of Benton, Louisiana, three grandchildren, Addison, Gracelynn, and Aiden, and nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Brian graduated from RockRidge High School in 1977. He worked for Prudential and Mills Chevrolet before he received his Nursing Degree from Black Hawk College in 1996. He was a nurse at the local hospitals and a Director of Nursing for several area nursing homes. He also gave in-home nursing care for patients. One of Brian's passions and callings was hospice care and in home care for children. His fondest and best memories are coaching each of his children in baseball and softball. Brian was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. His big smile, sly grin and witty humor will be missed by many.
As Brian requested, cremation will be accorded. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
