Dallas was born on June 30, 1938, in Albany, Illinois, a son of Donald and Bernice (Huggins) Armstrong. He graduated from United Township High School, Class of 1957.
He retired from John Deere as an electrician at the Davenport Works facility after 35 years of distinguished service.
Whatever Dallas did, he put his all into it, and he loved many things. He was a professional snow skier in Europe in his early years, ran several marathons, was a pilot, sky diver, horse racer, and snowboard and ski instructor. He owned several businesses over his lifetime; whether it was hotels in Illinois and Colorado, an ice cream parlor, or a horse farm, Dallas kept himself busy.
Ultimately, horses were his true passion. He owned and operated Armstrong Riding Stables & Carriages in East Moline, which provided board to over 50 horses, had the largest indoor riding arena in the area, and provided carriage rides for weddings, holidays, and other special events. Dallas had the pleasure of training over 500 horses in his career.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Corey Hardt, Coal Valley, IL; grandchildren, Sophia Kunzle, Audrey Kunzle and Cameron Hardt; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Linda Armstrong, Peoria, IL; and several nephews and niece.
Dallas was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Joyce Armstrong, and brother, Duane Armstrong.

Dallas made sure I had a strong foundation at the very start of my equestrian journey and taught me for many years after that. He was truly an amazing person who will truly be missed. I will never forget how excited I was when he came to watch me show YEARS after he had stopped teaching lesson.
