My sincere condolences to Carolyn and the Cattron family. I had the delightful pleasure of meeting Dave at the Spring flower sale at the JJC Greenhouse a few years back. I had heard much about Dave and Jim Shinn of how instrumental they were in bringing the Cronin School, one-room school house, from Shorewood to the Joliet Junior College campus in 1987. I heard about it from my mother, Marie Ghilain (104), who taught in the schoolhouse in 1928-29. I have the opportunity to continue her legacy at JJC as a docent for the Cronin School because Dave spearheaded the project of relocating the school building. What an interesting and motivating person. Rest in peace my friend.

David will ever remain in my heart and those of our family as the neighbor and friend who did more than tolerate a ragtag group of neighborhood kids. Climbing trees to rescue balls, having them over for apple pressing in the fall, building a treehouse complete with balcony and having one of our kids for his assistant, photographing and developing pictures of our kids growing up. What can I say about a guy like this?!! He will surely be missed.

My sympathy to all the family. Dave was my ag teacher at Annawan high school and was my leader while I was FFA president there. Great man with dedication to agriculture. Glad to see he was able to follow his dream in ag related ventures. To his wife Carolyn, my sympathies. If I remember you were also a teacher at Annawan.
