Duane L. LaMere, 81, of Rock Island, died Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Silver Cross Pavilion at Friendship Manor. A funeral service will take place at 11 am on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Grace Church PC (USA), Rock Island. Visitation will be from 10-11 am Monday, September 15, 2025, at church. Burial will take place at Preemption Cemetery, Preemption, Illinois. Memorials may be made in care of the Marion Medical Mission, Grace Church PC (USA) or Friendship Manor.
Duane was born in Rock Island, Illinois on May 26, 1944, a son of Fern and Doris Whan LaMere. He married Leslee Carlson on November 25, 1977, with whom he had a son, Samuel. Leslee preceded him in death on October 10, 2002. Duane married Amy Jo Gregg on January 7, 2012, at South Park Presbyterian Church, Rock Island, Illinois.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Amy Jo LaMere; children, Sam LaMere, Heidi (Kevin) Rettig, Amber (Steven) Katz and Kevin (Brianna) Pollock; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, David LaMere; and nephews, Drew (Angie) and Dane LaMere.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, sister and brother-in-law, Doreen and Luigino "Gene" Sartor and sister-in-law, Dixie LaMere.
