Elizabeth "Betty Gene" Henrikson, 100, of Woodhull, Ill., passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville. The visitation will be held Monday, November 24, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Woodhull. The funeral service will directly follow at 12 p.m. The Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home in Alpha and Woodhull is overseeing the arrangements. The burial will take place at the Woodhull Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be left to Bethany Lutheran Church or to the Woodhull Cemetery Association. Elizabeth was born on April 19, 1925, in New Windsor, the daughter of Carroll and Mildred Peterson Anderson. On June 14, 1941, she married Vernon J. Henrikson in Macon, Mo. They were married for 68 years before his passing on March 10, 2010.

She was a homemaker for most of her life but also worked at the Woodhull Plaza for many years. She was a longtime member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Woodhull and was very active with the Meals on Wheels program as well as a former election judge. She enjoyed bowling, cooking, baking, and vacationing in Arizona during the winter months.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Diane Lindsey of Rio, Don (Pat) Henrikson of Oak Run, Brent (Keri) Henrikson of Woodhull, Brad (Lori) Henrikson of Huntsville, Alabama; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jeff Anderson of Altona; and special friend Alphonse Meirhaeghe.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Connie Tisdale; great-grandson, TJ Page; brothers, Dick and Butch Anderson; sisters, Kathleen Briggs, Beverly LuAllen, Janet Swanson; and sons-in-law, Charles Lindsey and Jake Tisdale.
