Elsie R. Campbell, 97, of Rock Island, IL, died Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Friendship Manor, Rock Island.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Hanover United Presbyterian Church, 110 N Washington St. Hanover, IL, 61041. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial is in Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover.
Memorials may be made to the church or Hanover VFW Post #5300.
Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory, Moline, is entrusted with arrangements.
The former Elsie Ruth Williams was born July 7, 1926, in California, MO, the daughter of Hobart and Anna (Hatfield) Williams. She married the love of her life, Donald Campbell, in 1946. Elsie and Don owned and operated Don's Tap in Hanover for over 30 years prior to Don's passing in 1985.
She was a member of United Presbyterian Church, Hanover and VFW Women's Auxiliary in Hanover. She loved crafts of all kinds, and enjoyed giving gifts to her family, friends, and to the yearly Christmas Bizarre at the church.
Elsie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly Shaw and William Jones of Moline; and two granddaughters: Darcy (Jeff) Dupont of Rock Island, and Natalie (Chris Zimmer) Shaw of Moline. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don; two sisters: Dorothy Reisteck and Beverly Williams; and a brother, Phillip Williams.
