NEW WINDSOR-Gary "Brother" Nyle Anderson, 81, of New Windsor, Illinois passed away Friday, May 27, 2022 at his home. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Calvary Lutheran Cemetery in New Windsor. Memorial contributions may be left to Tri County Ambulance. Peterson – Wallin – Knox Funeral Home in Alpha is in charge of arrangements.
Gary was born on September 22, 1940 in Aledo, Illinois, the son of Richard and G. Maxine Johnson Anderson. He married Joanne Thorp on October 17, 1963 in Nashua, Iowa.
Gary worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator through the Operating Engineers Union #537 and #150. He truly enjoyed going to work every day. He loved to play golf, where he achieved 2 hole in ones. He also enjoyed playing cards and being with his grandkids and great-grandkids.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joanne Anderson of New Windsor; 2 children, Rene (Lonny) Williams of New Windsor, Travis (Joyce) Anderson of Reynolds; 4 grandchildren, Seve (Jennifer) Anderson, Dustin (Alexis) Williams, Caleb Williams, Nyle Anderson; 6 great-grandchildren, Lane, Wyatt and Henry Williams, Bronwyn Anderson, Gavin and Gracelyn Hamberg; 1 sister, Jill (Darwin Swanson) Larson of Woodhull; 1 brother, Larry Anderson of New Windsor; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
