Geraldine A. Harmon, 87 of Aledo, died Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Mercer Manor, Aledo.
Funeral Services will be Friday, December 29, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Speer Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Aledo United Methodist Church or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
Geraldine Ann was born on October 24, 1936, in Moline, IL, to George A. and Lucille (Donehey) Lefevre. She was a graduate of United Township High School, where she excelled at cheerleading and was Homecoming Queen. Gerry and Donald Harmon were married in East Moline, IL.
Gerry was a dedicated homemaker, but also was office manager for Don's shop, General Pattern, in Moline. Gerry was a member of the Aledo United Methodist Church and the Homemakers Extension of the University of Illinois. She enjoyed golfing, line dancing, bowling, and crafts, especially painting. Gerry enjoyed the friendships with her high school class and helped organize many class reunions.
Gerry is survived by her husband, Donald; daughters and sons-in-law: Teri Bolt of Davenport, IA, Vicki and Mike Peterson of Aledo, and Lisa and Bill Sloan of Taylor Ridge; five grandchildren and spouses: Angie and Brent Bigham, Emily and Travis Neeld, Devan and McKenzie Peterson, Dustin and Summer Sloan, and Zach and Jess Sloan; 11 great-grandchildren: Addy, Tyson, Beau, Madelynn, Keatyn, Shelly, Tristan, Scarlett, Rhett, Avery and Colt. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters-in-law: Beverly Salmonson and Madeline Vincent.
