EAST MOLINE-Gloria J. Tripp, 79, of East Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, December 26, 2020 at University of Iowa Hospital due to complications from a stroke.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Clark, and their children, Toni Tripp of Normal, IL, David Tripp of Grand Blanc, MI, and Stacey (Randy) Biggiam of Cooksville, IL; three grandchildren, Olivia Biggiam and Austin and Drew Tripp; sister, Sharon (Ken) Janes; sister, Judy (Terry) Robison; brother, Frank (Sue) Courtney; sister-in-laws, Joyce and Peggy Tripp; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gary.
Gloria was a wonderful wife and mother as well as a grandmother who took great pride in her grandchildren's talent in music, art, and sports. She will be remembered for her love of books and amazing sewing skills. She was an avid quilter and a member of the Mississippi Valley Quilters Guild. She loved working with the Guild's charity group and always looked forward to weekend quilting getaways. She had been involved with Quad City Music Guild making costumes for numerous productions. Gloria had also been a member of the Christ United Methodist Church Women's Society for many years.
She will be interred at the Rock Island National Cemetery at a later date, immediate family only. Due to COVID, a celebration to honor her life will be held at a later date at Christ United Methodist Church. Memorial donations can be made to Christ United Methodist Church in East Moline, IL or the charity of their choice.

My condolences to you and your family. I am a past president of the Mississippi Quilt Guild and a past member of Christ United Methodist Church. I remember visiting with Gloria many of times. I know she will be deeply miss by everyone. I am also Carole Morris“s sister. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
