Funeral services for Harley E. DeVilder, 76, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Monday, October 23, 2023, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, IL. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 2:00 - 4:00 PM Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 1:00 PM. Mr. DeVilder passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, at River Crossing, Moline.
Harley was born November 6, 1946, in Moline, the son of Raymond and Viola Lewis DeVilder. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He married Diane VandeVoorde June 8, 1968, at St. Malachy's Catholic Church, Geneseo, IL. She passed away March 29, 2023. He retired from the Rock Island Arsenal after many years of service. Harley was an outdoors-man. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He enjoyed playing rolle-bolle and excelled in the martial arts,with a 2nd degree black belt. When his sons were young, he was a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 300.
Survivors include his sons: Stephen (Dawn) DeVilder, Moline, and Darrell (Jennifer) DeVilder, Moline; grandchildren; Emily, Tyler, Austin, Nikki, Amanda, and Paige; sister, Frances (Richard) McCormick, Barstow, IL; and three nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Memorials may be made to the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.

I am so sorry for your loss. I just seen online. I grew up across the street from Frances and Harley. And, I was in Arizona when Dianne died. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family!
