Lawrence "Larry" Fred Scott

Lawrence "Larry" Fred Scott, 67, of Carbon Cliff passed away July 18, 2022 at Unity Point-Trinity Bettendorf.
A memorial service will be 11am Friday, July 29, 2022 at Faith Walk World Outreach Center, Silvis. Visitation will be 4-7pm Thursday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline at a later date. Memorials to the family.
Larry was born November 11, 1954 in Monmouth, the son of Fred "Leroy" and Betty Coleman Scott. He married Joline Theis May 1, 1982 in East Moline. After graduating high school in 1973, Larry volunteered in fire service for 32 years, was a certified EMT, and also served as Fire Chief of the Carbon Cliff/Barstow Fire Department. Larry worked at John Deere Foundry and later retired from the Village of Carbon Cliff after 16 years. He was also owner and operator of Scott's Lawn Service for 15 years. He was still currently serving the Village of Carbon Cliff as Trustee.
Larry was a nature lover and enjoyed gardening, fishing, and taking care of the birds. He was a Packers fan and an avid Cardinals fan. He was a very giving person who would help anyone in need. He had many close friends and many close neighbors. He was an all-around family man with big hands and a huge heart. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Joline; children Tonya (Josh) King of East Moline, Lawrence "Scotty" (Katie Nguyen) Scott of Chicago, and Sara (Kyle) Johnson of New Hope, MN; grandchildren Caylee King, Colton King, Remi Johnson, and Dagne Johnson; siblings Jimmie Scott, Theresa (Alfred) Bivens, and Tammy Nees and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bob, and father-in-law Larry Theis.
