Marlene Kay Diericks

June 10, 1947 - January 6, 2026

Marlene Kay Diericks, 78, of East Moline, Ill., died Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at her home.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 12 to 2 p.m., Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the Rapids City Community Center, Rapids City, Ill.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Millie Moo Foundation.

Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron is assisting the family with arrangements.

Marlene was born on June 10, 1947 in Moline, Ill. to Norman and Donna (Kershaw) Michels. She married Alfonse "Al" E. Diericks on July 25, 1970. Marlene graduated from Alleman High School in 1965. She retired after 32 years with John Deere where she worked in the Harvester Accounting Department.

Marlene loved her and Al's annual trips to Tennessee. She also enjoyed camping with her family. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing pool in a local pool league. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family, following her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to all their various sporting events.

Marlene is survived by her husband, Al; daughters, Traci (Arlie) Newberg of East Moline, Kelli (Heath) Franklin of Hampton, Ill., Micki Diericks of Moline, Ill.; grandchildren, Laken Franklin, John Stickler, Brennan Franklin; great-grandchildren Kiyah and K'Veon; and sister, Pam Oppendike.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to thank the staff at Compassus Hospice for their compassionate care.
