ROCK ISLAND-Mary Kay Michalski, 85, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Unity Point Trinity, Rock Island.

A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rock Island County Historical Society.

Mary Kay was born December 12, 1935 in Canton, MO, the daughter of Joseph A. and Phyllis C. (Stack) Normoyle. She married Lt. Colonel John "Jack" Michalski on May 7, 1955 at the former St. Joseph's Church, Rock Island. He preceded her in death on June 5, 2016.

Mary Kay graduated at Villa De Chantal, Rock Island and attended MaryCrest College, Davenport.

Mary Kay was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island, Rock Island County Historical Society and Daughters of American Revolution. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading and traveling.

Survivors include her children, Mark (Vicki) Michalski, Owings Mills, MD, Karen (Bob) Sarazin, Rock Island and Lisa (Gregg) Miller, Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Matt, Nick (Mayumi), Meghann (Aaron), Laura (Trevor), Danny (Becca), Allie, Sarah (Charlie), Ellen (Sam), Jenn (Austin) and Jon (Amanda); great grandchildren, Willow, Zoey, Aidan, Collin, Hannah and Hailey; brother, Robert (Linda) Normoyle, Moline; sister-in-laws, Rosalie Michalski, Geneseo, Diane Normoyle Johnson and Jeanne Brodd and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter, Kathryn Ilene and brothers, Donald Normoyle and Joseph Normoyle.
