Matthew John Prieto
October 27, 1976-December 3, 2021
Matthew John Prieto, 45, East Moline, IL passed away Friday, December 3, 2021 at Genesis Hospital Silvis, IL. Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM Friday, December 10, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. A visitation from 9AM until service time will be in the Church vestibule. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Memorials may be made to have masses said in Matt's name.
Matt was born in Moline, Il to John Prieto Jr. and Linda Mier Foster on Oct. 27 1976. He graduated from Moline High School in 1995. He was active in wrestling, football, and judo. Matt was owner/operator of Home Maintenance Services (HMS) for 12 years. Matt was a hard worker with good work ethics and was depended on greatly by many members of his family and never turned down an opportunity to help with any home maintenance project. Many of us are wondering what we will do without him.
Matt was family oriented and loved large family gatherings. He loved mountain biking but rarely had extra time to enjoy it.
In addition to his parents John M. Prieto Jr. and Linda B. Mier Foster (Jess Medina) survivors include: sister Natalie Prieto Aurora, Il, Girlfriend Jamie Welge (son Nick) East Moline, IL, Grandmother Naum Mier Moline, IL and his angels, Cobee and Hailey.
He was preceded in death by paternal Grandparents John Sr and Dolores Prieto and Maternal Grandfather Florencio Mier and step-father Jim Foster.
He also leaves, to mourn his passing, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews and a host of loving friends.
Online condolences may be left for the family at www.vanhoe.com.
