Matthew Stout

June 4, 1974 - September 19, 2024

Matthew A. Stout, 50, East Moline, Ill. passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024 after complications from surgery. In a final act of generosity, Matthew donated his eyes to give the gift of sight. There will be a visitation from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. with a funeral service following at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Burial at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Adult Down Syndrome Center, Park Ridge, Ill.

Matthew was born on June 4, 1974 to Richard and Linda (Conger) Stout in Moline, Ill. He graduated from the Blackhawk Area Special Education Program.

Matthew recently had his 50th birthday where he was able to celebrate his favorite day of the year with a big party and then immediately began counting down until his 51st.

Matthew was active with the Special Olympics on both the local and state level. He loved the Power Rangers and Digimon and liked watching movies and his DVDs. He also enjoyed going out to dinner, especially if it was a place that had ribs. Matthew liked to travel and particularly the family trip to Hawaii.

He will be greatly missed by his parents, Richard and Linda Stout; brother, Mark (Julie) Stout; numerous uncles and aunts including ones especially close to his heart, Jeff and Jeanne Beuseling; BFFs, Tammy and Ron Wales; as well as many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herschel and Martha Stout; and Calvin and Edna May Conger.
