I am saddened to hear of Mike's passing and my sympathies to your family. I knew Mike and his dad, Jim, a lifetime ago while me, my dad, and they were in the Snake Tribe in the YMCA Indian Guides way back in the mid-1970s. I remember Mike and Jim as really nice people. Peace to you all.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Mike was my best friend in band through junior high and high school. We were first and second chair trumpet players. Every daily practice, every concert, every marching band. One week he challenged me and took my first chair. I wasn't perfect. I told him to enjoy it while it lasted and took it back in challenges the next week and kept it. He didn't challenge me very often and I never let him get it again. I love Mike. We never talked after high school. Different lives in different places. He's always had a place in my heart. I'm sorry you had to leave us so early brother. I hope we can get together again someday. Rest in peace and without pain.

Mike and I met and had many good times while being musicians with the knights drum and bugle corps. I´m sad to hear of his passing but sounds like it was a relief from the battle with cancer.
