MOLINE-Nancy C. Pearson Lee, 83, of Moline, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021 at Overlook Village, Moline.

Funeral services will be 11am, Monday, April 19, 2021 at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St A, Moline. Visitation will be 1-4pm Sunday at the funeral home. Graveside service will be 1pm, Tuesday April 20, 2021 at Old Stonington Cemetery, Stonington, IL. Masks will be required at all services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Missions or Overlook Village.

Nancy was born February 4, 1938 in Taylorville, IL, the daughter of Elwood and Oma "Velma" (Allison) Pearson. She married Billie G. Lee on August 22, 1959 at Old Stonington Baptist Church, Stonington, IL.

Nancy graduated from Taylorville High School in 1955. She received her Registered Nurse degree at Deaconess School of Nursing, St. Louis, MO, Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Marycrest College and Masters of Science in Nursing at Loyola University, Chicago.

Nancy was employed 40 years as a Registered Nurse retiring from Trinity Medical Center in 1999 as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. She previously was the Head Nurse of Intensive Care at Moline Lutheran and United Medical Center. Nancy worked with Dr. Paul Moen to implement the first Gastric Bypass program at Moline Lutheran Hospital and she and Chaplain Ron Hasley developed the first Hospice program in the Illinois Quad Cities called Pathway Hospice. Nancy was recognized for outstanding contributions to Nursing by Quad City Times being elected by educators, students, administrators and nursing staff. Later she implemented a medical call center called HealthTouch which was recognized as one of the leading call centers. She left a legacy of leadership and service to First Baptist Church, Moline, Miss Blackhawk Valley, Miss Illinois, Miss Iowa and Miss America Scholarship Programs.

Nancy was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a pioneer in the nursing field and was a teacher and mentor to many nurses.

Survivors include her husband, Bill; children, Becky (Bert) Hinton, Rock Island and Darryl (Mary) Lee, Moline; granddaughters, Sydney, Maggie and Blythe; foster child, Mariyam Talybova and brother, Max (Shirley) Pearson, Allen, TX. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Martha Ann in 1964 and brothers, Marshall and Robert Pearson.
