Nellie Charlotte "Char" Whitehall, age 102, of Aledo, IL, passed away March 18, 2024, at Brookstone of Aledo.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo, IL. The Funeral Service will directly follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Aledo Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be left to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

She was born October 23, 1921 in Andalusia, IL, to Orrin and Mable Bull Whitlock. She attended the local country schools. On August 28, 1943, Charlotte was united in marriage to Robert F. Whitehall in Aledo. He died in 1971.
Char was employed as a cook for many years. She worked at various local restaurants and served at the Westmer School District for several years. She retired in 1989 from the Mercer County Hospital after 16 years working in the dietary department. She cleaned for area businesses and residents for many years.
She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting and puzzles. She loved being with and cooking for her family; her chicken and noodles were a family delight.
Survivors include two daughters: Katherine Shondel of Fort Madison, IA, and Denise Patterson of Joy, IL; a son, Thomas Whitehall of Campbellsville, KY; ten grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren with another lovingly expected and several nieces and nephews. She was also survived by a special niece, Bonnie Peterson; and special friends like family, Stan and Paula Nelson and family.
Her parents, husband, three sisters, four brothers, one great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild preceded her in death.
