Neva was born Easter Sunday, April 21, 1935, in Ava, Ill., to George and Mary (Born) Morber. She started school in 1940 and walked three miles to a one-room schoolhouse, where she attended through eighth grade. Neva graduated from Anna-Jonesboro Community High School in May 1952. Neva was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Milan and the Rock Island Women of the Moose.

Neva enjoyed many activities after retiring. For many years, she volunteered at St. Anthony's Nursing Home, served meals at St. Joseph's meal site, and transported patients to Trinity Medical Center. Neva enjoyed gardening, jelly making, baking, and cooking.

Those left to remember Neva include her children, William McKinley Jr., Mary (Alan) Taulbee, Faith Dykes, Pauline (Chuck) Dole, and Kevin (Julie) McKinley; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Anna (Ed) Weinert and Phyllis Munoz; and several nieces and nephews.

My sincerest sympathies to all the family members on your loss. It wasn't until I read the full obituary that I realized I knew Neva from my working days at Franciscan/Trinity. I knew her as Neva McKinley and knew she was a sweet, and hard working lady. She will definitely be a loss for your entire family. So wish I could have made the visitation, but was unable to do so. Prayers of comfort and consolation for you all.

So sorry to hear of Neva´s passing. I used to work with her in the OR at Franciscan. She was spunky and she made the absolutely best peach cobbler! Rest in peace, Neva!
