Patricia Boone Obituary

Patricia J. Boone

Patricia J. Boone, 87, of East Moline, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m., on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, Ill. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Private burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in West Brooklyn, Ill. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Patricia (Pat) was born on November 3, 1937, in Dixon, Ill., the daughter of Lloyd and Helen (Harvey) Huggins. She received her nursing degree from the school of nursing at KSB Hospital in Dixon, Ill. Patricia was extremely dedicated to the many patients she cared for, working for more than 30 years at the various hospitals in the Quad Cities, including St. Anthony's, Franciscan, and Moline Public Hospitals.

Patricia had a great love for her family, and she always enjoyed family get-togethers, and chatting with them on the phone. Patricia's other activities included oil painting, where she was a longtime member of the Left Bank Art League (cheers to the Friday afternoon painters at Ben Butterworth!), viewing wildlife, feeding the birds in her yard, (cardinals were her favorite), singing in the choir at her church and travelling (Ireland topped the list). Patricia liked to be involved in the community as well, serving as an election judge, and volunteering for various charitable organizations through the years. In her later years, she enjoyed going to mass, dining out and listening to music in the parks with her very special friend, Leo Ohlsen.

Patricia is survived by her children, Lisa (Richard) Studebaker, Cynthia Gair, Jennifer (Adrian) Lyord, John (Mary Jo) Gehant Jr., and step-son, Timothy (Lisa) Boone; grandchildren, Patricia, Thomas, Taylor, Haley, Alexander, Elijah, Marcus, David, and Samantha; several great-grandchildren; brother, David Huggins; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Rosemary, Peggy, Barbara, Neil and William; and husband, Neal Boone.
