Patty was born March 17, 1962 in Iowa City, the daughter of Jan and Judith (Whipple) Richards. She married Jerome Lipes on June 14, 1986 in Moline.
Patty was a 1980 Alleman High School Graduate. She was a past member of Sacred Heart Church, Moline.
Patty was very artistic and loved decorating especially her daughters' birthday tables. She enjoyed all holidays with her family but Christmas and wrapping presents was her favorite season. She cherished her time at the ocean. She homeschooled all of her children and loved learning as much as she loved teaching them but her favorite thing to teach them was how to boogie board. She knew exactly when to jump to catch the perfect wave and when to let them pass on by. She also had a passion to share the Word of God with her children and grandchildren. She was also a devoted wife to her husband and love of her life of 37 years this June. She will be greatly missed as a staple of her family.
Survivors include her husband, Jerome; daughters, Katie Smith, Davenport, Candice (Erik) Madson, Milan and Rachel (Andrew) Lipes, Davenport; grandchildren, Olivia Grace Smith, Abigail Lynne Smith, Evelyn Elaine Madson, William Russell Lipes and George Jerome Lipes due in August; mother, Judith Richards; sisters, Leann Richards and Michelle Wells and brother, Brad Richards. She was preceded in death by her father, Jan and sister, Jill Hitchcock.
