Patsy K. Hartwich, aged 81, of Rock Island, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, peacefully at her home, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on January 13, 1944, in Moline, the cherished daughter of Edward M. and Beatrice M. (Foye) Eaton.
Throughout her early years, Patsy embraced the joy of service while working at Woolworth Diner in Moline. Her professional journey continued as she dedicated 27 years to the role of secretary at Roberts and Dybdahl Lumber Store in Milan, where her kindness and diligence left a lasting impression on her colleagues and customers alike.
Patsy's generous spirit extended well beyond her professional life. She was a devoted volunteer at the Quad City Animal Welfare Center and the UnityPoint Trinity hospital gift shop, where her compassion for both animals and people shone brightly. Family was at the heart of Patsy's life; she treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren, sharing moments filled with love, laughter, and the joy of simple pleasures, like playing Canasta with her granddaughter. She was also a proud member of Rainbow Girls and served as a Worthy Advisor.
Her enduring legacy is carried on by her two children, Steven M. (Janet) Hartwich and Debbi O'Mary; her cherished grandchildren, Ryan and Macy O'Mary; her loving brother, Ross (Dixie) Eaton; a multitude of nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat baby, Bella. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Ava Lee Eaton; and her son-in-law, Grady O'Mary.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory in Milan. Visitation will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Patsy's honor may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center in Milan.
