Paul Ellison, 61, of Moline, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021, at home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 15, 2021, at First Lutheran Church, Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to ARC of Quad Cities, or First Lutheran Church. Attendees are expected to wear a face mask.

Paul was born on February 28, 1960, in Davenport, IA, the son of John and Margie (Foust) Ellison, Sr. Paul was part of the ARC (Association for Retarded Citizens) program for most of his life. First with ARC Industries working with hangers and then at Opportunity Center in their day program. Paul enjoyed living in his group home and the loving care the staff gave to him. We would like to give special acknowledgement to Darcy his supervisor at his home. Her compassion and care of Paul will not be forgotten.

Paul lived his life the best that God allowed. Paul loved his brother and sisters. He was best buds with his stepfather, John Peterson, who gave Paul all the love, patience, and guidance a father could give. Most of all Paul missed and loved his mom, Marge Peterson, who dedicated her life to help enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities. She always said, "Paul was God's gift to us."

Survivors include his siblings, Cindy (Dave) Franklin, Pam (Bob) Engstrom; John "Joe" (Terri) Ellison; nieces and nephews, Jason (Kristina) Franklin, Nick Franklin, Monica (Joe) Van Vooren, Daniel (Michelle) Engstrom, Jennifer, Lindsey, Jena, Joshua, Jodi, Jonathan, Jordan, Jacob, and Jalan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marge and John Peterson; father, John Ellison Sr.; & uncle, Russ Peterson.
