Paul D. Sivill

Paul D. Sivill, 102, passed away at Friendship Manor in Rock Island, on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Grace Church PC(USA), Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, at the church. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local American Legion, Grace Church PC(USA), Rock Island, Friendship Manor, Rock Island, or Beacon of Hope Hospice, Davenport.

Paul was born on May 31, 1922, in Paxton, Ill., a son of Floyd and Edna (Swanson) Sivill. He married Nancy E. Brownfield on January 15, 1949, in Rock Island. She preceded him in death on November 23, 2008. Paul retired from International Harvester in East Moline. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran of WWII. As a sergeant communications operator, he served on the Marshall Island, Kwajalein Atoll. Paul had the honor of being a part of the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities. He was an active member of Memorial Heights United Methodist Church until its closing. Paul found a new church home at Grace Church PC(USA). He had a passion for woodworking and family history. Other interests included pheasant hunting, coin collecting, and gardening. Most of all, he cherished spending time with family and friends.

Paul is survived by his sister-in-law, Donna Sivill; stepsister, Elva Richards; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; stepfather, Henry Swick; brother, Ronald Sivill; and stepsister, Barbara Yancy.

Paul was grateful for his neighborhood and church families in addition to special friends in the community.

The family would like to thank the assisted living staff at Friendship Manor, Beacon of Hope Hospice, and all his dear friends for their compassionate care and support.
