Peggy Marie Freeman

Peggy Marie Freeman, 72, of East Moline passed away, Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA, following an extended illness.
Visitation will be 4:00PM-7:00PM, Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Van Hoe Funeral Home in East Moline, with a rosary service prior at 3:30PM. A Funeral Mass Service for Peggy will be held at 10:00AM, Friday, October 29, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Silvis with internment following at St. Mary's Cemetery East Moline.
Peggy was born January 19, 1949 at Moline Public Hospital to Carl and Betty (Schatteman) Freeman. She was a class of 1967 graduate of UTHS and attended Black Hawk College and U of I. Peggy was employed for most of her career in medical transcription at ORA and an executive assistant at Trinity. She was active many years in local theater groups as a costume and wardrobe design specialist. Early on she was an actress appearing in productions at theaters in the area. She was recognized and honored by the QC Music Guild for her costume and wardrobe design efforts with membership in their Hall of Fame. She worked regularly with several local High Schools Theater programs, outfitting their costume design and creation. She enjoyed making custom dresses and outfits for her friends and family. Survivors include her father; son, Carl (Valerie) Freeman, Moline; brothers, John (Kathy) Freeman, Rock Island, and Gary (Suze) Freeman, Hampton; sister in law, Cindy Freeman, St. Peter Minnesota; grandchildren, Carl, Jaxton, and Emma; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Peggy was preceded in death by her mother and by her brother, Thomas Freeman.

It is with a heavy heart that Im sending prayers for Peggy,
and also to her son, father and extended family. I had the privilege of knowing Peggy since early days at St. Mary's School in East Moline. Peggy was a gem and she will be missed by many. God's blessings to the family.
I'm sorry to miss her visitation & mass, but I'm scheduled
to start radiation therapy.
