Richard "Ricky" Murga

Richard "Ricky" Murga, 53, Rock Island, passed Saturday, November 7, 2020, at University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, after a courageous battle with COVID-19.
Catholic burial mass will be Saturday, November 14, 2020, at St. Pius X Church, Rock Island where his live-streamed service can be viewed on Rafferty Funeral Home's Facebook at 10am. Visitation will be 4-7pm, Friday at Rafferty Funeral Home, Moline. COVID guidelines will be enforced. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Joseph Evening Meal, or the Black Hawk College Foundation in Richard's name.
Richard was born May 11, 1967, in Rock Island, the son of Armando and Patricia (Manriques) Murga, Sr. He graduated from BlackHawk College and Western Illinois University, where he earned his Trilateral MBA, always adhering to the motto, "Make it Happen!"
Richard worked at Deere and Company as a Government Contract Administrator.
He enjoyed cycling, vintage automobiles, Mexican art and culture, and, most importantly, time with his family.
Survivors include his mother, Patricia D. Murga, Rock Island; father, Armando Murga, Sr., Mexico; brother, Armando (Zoila) Murga, Jr., Milan, and their children, Jamie, Armando III, and Gabriela, brother/uncle Jesse Flores, and daughter Jessica, brother, Timothy (Terri) Murga, Rock Island and their children, Melissa, Kristen, Lauren, Timothy II, and Rebecca, brother, Steve(Lori) Murga, Carlisle, IA, and their children, Ben and Lucas, brother, Victor (Jodi) Murga, Milan and their children, Maria, Lindsay and Nico, brother, David Murga, Chicago, and sister, Tricia (Sam) Rodarte, Rock Island, and their children, Sebastian and Serena; special friend Maria Reyes, close family friends Juan and Gloria Garcia, and several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Amelia "Molly" Segura, paternal grandmother, Margarita Flores, and great aunt, Manuela Flores.
