Robert Michael Clark, age 85, a lifelong resident of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away on December 16, 2025. Mike had been a patient at Unity Point Trinity for several weeks prior to his passing due to declining health.
Mike was born on March 12, 1940, to Julia and Philip Clark where he was one of five children. His brothers Jerry, Philip, and Daniel preceded him; and he is survived by his sister Judith, three nieces Kathy, Betsy, and Jenny, and two nephews Matt and John.
Mike had a soft spot for animals with a special love for dogs and watching the birds he fed in his back yard. Mike was well known in the Rock Island community through his work with the Saint Vincent De Paul Society, the Sacred Heart food pantry, and the evening meals at the Rock Island Township building. Mike was instrumental in the expansion of the food pantry over the past 50 years to address the growing need to feed the hungry. His food ministry also planted the seed of what is now the River Bend Food Bank that services the regional needs of food pantries in the area.
There will be a visitation at 10 a.m. before the funeral which will start at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rock Island on December 20, 2025. If you wish to send flowers or memorials, please do so as a donation to the Sacred Heart Food Pantry Club at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rock Island, in Mike's name.

We all called him Mike he was such a nice man. Had a great sense of humor when you would 1st come into the food pantry he´d greet you saying hi how are you doing ? Then his funny side came about he would look at your drivers license and say aren´t you on americas most wanted! Some people thought he was serious but we all knew he was teasing. I was a caregiver for many years I´d bring my clients. Rest in peace Mike.
Sorry for the family´s loss. He´ll help people in heaven like he´s done for many years .

I had the pleasure of working with Mike at the Food Pantry & Evening Meal and was always impressed with how well he could handle any situation with humor and authority.He was definitely one of a kind..a good one, and I was glad I got to know him. You've earned your rest Mike, God bless you.
