Ronald E. Knuth

January 16, 1962 - April 2, 2025

Ronald E. Knuth, 63, of Rock Island passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 11, at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of Troop 243 of the Boy Scouts of America or to Jennifer Knuth (Denkmann Garden).

Ron was born on January 16, 1962 in Davenport, IA, the son of Ralph and Susan (Heinze) Knuth. He was united in marriage to Jennifer Peterson on July 5, 1996 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Davenport.

Ron graduated from Davenport West High School in 1980 and went on to graduate from Augustana College in 1984. He currently worked as the Chief Financial Officer for Community Action of Eastern Iowa and previously worked as Controller for Midland (Elanders) Inc.

While at Augustana, Ron was a proud member of the Gamma Alpha Beta Fraternity, in which he gained many lifelong friends.

Family was the most important thing in Ron's life. He was a very devoted husband and father, always staying involved in his children's activities. His hobbies included golfing, working on puzzles, gardening, and attending the theater.

Ron always put others before himself and will be remembered for his gentle, kind, and compassionate heart. Ron was a man of faith. He was a long time member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Davenport and later became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline.

Those left to cherish Ron's memory include his wife, Jennifer; children, Rebecca, Hannah and Jonathan; mother, Susan Knuth; sister and brother in law, Linda and Jeff Anderson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeff and Nancy Peterson; nieces and nephews, Lauren Anderson (Clay Mason), Lindsey Anderson, Erik (Erin) Peterson and Tor Peterson; many special cousins and his furry friends, Maggie and Millie.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Knuth; and in-laws, Sandra and Ward Peterson, as well as many other beloved family members.
