Ruth M. Watson

November 18, 1926 - March 24, 2025

Ruth M. Watson, 98, of East Moline, Ill., died Monday, March 24, 2025, at Park Vista Retirement Living.

Services are 11 a.m., Monday, April 14, at Bethel Wesley United Methodist Church, Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park immediately following services. Memorials may be made to the church.

Ruth Maxine Watson was born November 18, 1926, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Louis Lynn and Verlie Effie (Langley) Hastings Sr. She married the love of her life, Lewis Wilmont "Monty" Watson, on March 23, 1946, in Monmouth, Ill. He passed away on November 30, 2013.

Ruth is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Ed Lawson of Coal Valley, Ill., and Dianna and Jerry Biernat of Plainfield, Ill.; five grandchildren, Erica (Denzil); Jeff (DaNene), Sarah (Kyle), Lisa (Shawn), and Felicia; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents and siblings, Margaret Flowers, Louis Hastings Jr., and Donald Hastings.
