Samuel Dusenberry Obituary
January 27, 1941 - August 4, 2025
Samuel Keith Dusenberry, 84, of Rock Island, passed away Monday August 4, 2025 at Generations of Rock Island.
Visitation will be Thursday August 7, 2025 from 4:00-7:00PM at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Military Honors presented by Milan American Legion. Inurnment will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Samuel was born on January 27, 1941 in Moline, the son of Louis Franklin and Velma Irene(Leib) Dusenberry. He married Sharon M. DeSmet on October 16, 1965 in Aledo.
Mr. Dusenberry had been employed as a truck driver for Carstensen Trucking. After retirement he was a instructor at Scott CountyCommunity College in the CDL program.
He was a long time member of the Rock Island Moose Lodge and had enjoyed coaching Rock Island Youth Baseball for several years. Sam was a avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, he also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his children, Terry (Debbie) Calloway, Colona, Jeff Calloway, Rock Island, Dawn Mooney, Milan, Dusty (Julie) Dusenberry, Rock Island; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sisters, Marie and Linda.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; parents, Louis and Velma; grandsons, Eric and Brandon Calloway; siblings, David, Carl, Donnie, Karen and Joyce.
