Steven Lonnell Benson

August 12, 1961 - June 20, 2025

Steven Lonnell Benson, 63 passed away unexpectedly Friday June 20, 2025, in Tulsa, OK.

Stevie was born August 12, 1961, in Moline, IL to James R. and Margaret (Armstrong) Benson.

Stevie graduated from Rock Island High School in 1979. He loved to cook, whether in the kitchen or on the grill and you didn't want to miss his meals. He loved traveling and listening to his blues. Stevie also loved to talk and would talk to anyone that would listen; he definitely had the gift of gab.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Aaron DeLaRosa, Andrell DeLaRosa, Andrico DeLaRosa, Mario Welch all of Davenport and Chavaras Benson, Minnesota, granddaughters, Elise, Mia, Alivia, Andreja, Luna, Zendaya, grandsons, Andreas, Andrell Jr, Korde, Davion, sister Vanessa Benson, brothers Herbert Benson and Michael Benson all of Davenport, Aunt Rose Ellis, Little Rock, AR and his lifelong friend Dale Ganaway, Davenport.

Stevie was preceded in death by his daughters Shalonda Benson and Jasmine Benson, grandson Kendall DeLaRosa, sister Katina Benson and his parents.

Celebration of Life will be held at The Broadway.

2115 4th Ave R.I. IL.

Sunday July 20th 3 p.m.-7 p.m.
