January 29, 1934 - October 16, 2025
Suzanne E. Nelson, 91, of Geneseo, IL, formerly of Annawan, died on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Liberty Village, Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25th at Annawan Community United Methodist Church. Rev. Terry Lancaster will officiate. Burial will be in Annawan Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, prior to the service, from 10 – 11 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to Annawan Community United Methodist Church or Annawan Fire Department. Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
Suzanne was born on January 29, 1934, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Leslie R. and Catherine A. (Matern) Nelson. She graduated from Annawan High School and never married. Suzanne started working for the Annawan School Superintendent while she was still in high school and continued to work there for 50 years.
Suzanne was a member of the Annawan Community United Methodist Church, where she also taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed reading Western books and trips to the casinos.
Those surviving include her nephews, Martin (Judy) Nelson, Annawan, and Ronald L. (Deb Tuma) Nelson, Albert Lea, MN; and six great nieces and nephews, Craig (Mary) Nelson, Christopher (Sarah) Nelson, Curtis (Emily) Nelson, and Catherine (Dillon) Ford, Fallon Nelson, and Sierra Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Les Nelson.
