MOLINE-Thomas E. DeCrane, 67, of Moline, died Thursday, July 21, 2022 at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. A memorial visitation will be Thursday from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 – 7th Avenue, Rock Island. Inurnment services will be 10 am, Friday at the Rock Island National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Moline American Legion Post No. 246. Those wishing to attend the services at the cemetery should meet at the funeral home at 9:30 am on Friday. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Thomas was born on April 16, 1955 in Rock Island, a son of Donald and Theresa (Klauer) DeCrane. He married Irita Fischer on February 14, 1975 in Rhaunen, Germany. Tom retired as a project manager from the U.S. Army in 2014 after 38 years of service. He was a member of the NRA, Milan Rifle Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Tom was a kind and caring man who loved his family and friends. He was of the Catholic faith. Tom was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Irita; children, Samantha (Jeremiah) DeCrane Kaha, Moline, and Elisabeth DeCrane, Moline; siblings, Daniel (Becky) DeCrane, Illinois and Christine (Greg) Miecznikowski, Indiana; and his sister in law, Petra Gillespie, Moline.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; and two siblings, Stephen and Linda. Online condolences may be left for the family at wheelanpressly.com

My condolences to Irita and the rest of Toms family, although I´ve only known Tom for an little over an year, he was an good friend and an nice man who made it so easy to talk to, and he got along with everyone and tried to lift everyone up who seemed down, he was an amazing man! And I´m honored to say he was my friend, Irita if you ever need anything please let me know.
