ALPHA-William D. Martin, Sr., 63, of Alpha, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Peoria.
A Celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to CAST for kids.
Bill was born November 29, 1959 in Rock Island, the son of James and Alice Ann (Paul) Martin. He married Julie Schroeder on October 25, 1980 in Rock Island.
Bill last worked for Sivyer Steel, Bettendorf.
Music was a very big part of his life. He enjoyed singing and learning to play the guitar. Bill was also very artistic. He excelled in painting, drawing, and ceramics. Bill loved the great outdoors. Especially fishing, hiking, and bird watching. He had a heart that wouldn't give up.
Survivors include his wife, Julie; daughter, Amy Martin, Alpha; sister, Rebecca (Brett) McKee, Davenport and brothers, James (Jeannie) Martin, Moline, Tom (Joyce) Martin, East Moline and Albert (Sue) Martin, Belgium, WI. He was preceded in death by his son, William Martin, Jr. and sister, Sandra Martin.
