Wm. "Bill" Burns, 72, of Cordova, passed away, Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the MercyOne Genesis Silvis Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 20th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Gibson-Bode Funeral Home in Port Byron. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 19th, at the Gibson-Bode Funeral Home in Port Byron. Burial will take place at the Cordova Cemetery in Cordova, Illinois. Memorial may be directed to Project Now Transportation in Rock Island.

Bill was born June 19, 1953, in Clinton, Iowa, to Richard and Norma (Bultema) Burns. He graduated from Fulton High School in Fulton. Bill was united in marriage to Susan Lamb on April 2, 1976, in Albany, Illinois. He worked at Case IH in East Moline.

Bill enjoyed working, was always willing to lend a helping hand, and spent time with his grandchildren, having scooter races with them.

Bill is survived by his wife, Susan Burns of Cordova; daughter Brandi Burns of Rapids City, son Bill (Christina) Burns Jr. of Erie; grandchildren Hannah Burns, Holden Hodson, Brady Burns, Blake Burns, Brynna Burns, Braelynn Burns, and Bianca Burns; brother Gary Burns of Clinton, and sister Carolyn Dolph of Albany.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Sandy Jones, Sherri Burns, and Lauri Drobak; mother and father-in-law Jack and Marilyn Lamb; sister-in-law Toni Ward, and brother-in-law David Lamb.
