Arnold Truelson Obituary
March 28, 1942 - September 11, 2024
Arnold W. Truelson, 82, of LeClaire, passed away on Wednesday, September 11 at his home.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 20 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in LeClaire. Private graveside services will be held at Glendale Cemetery in LeClaire. Memorials may be made to Unity Point Hospice. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
Arnie was born March 28, 1942 in Rodman, Iowa, the son of Andy & Arnolda (Hinrichs) Truelson. He graduated from the University of South Dakota with a degree in Secondary Education on June 6, 1966.
Arnie was united in marriage to Kathy M. Taber on February 14, 1999 at their home in LeClaire.
Arnie had taught 8th grade mathematics at Central Dewitt School. He had also enjoyed coaching basketball, volleyball and golf.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Kathy; his sons, Scott Truelson of Chillicothe, Illinois, Frank Heston of LeClaire; and Kory (Lisa) Heston of DeWitt; his grandchildren, Jordan (Cecelia)Truelson, Shaela Truelson, Kenzie Heston and Gage Heston; his great-grandchildren, Quinn and Harper Truelson; his sisters, Cindy Schultz of Laurens, Iowa and Brenda Truelson of Spencer, Iowa; and his brothers, Jim (Jan) Truelson of Kalona, Iowa, Ed Truelson of San Antonio, Texas and Andrew Truelson of Spencer.
Arnie was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Kari Ann McDonnell and his mother-in-law, Joan Taber.
