Brent Marks Obituary

Brent Marks

September 13, 1959 - October 14, 2025

Brent W. Marks, age 66, of Wilton, Iowa, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at his home. A visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, October 19, 2025 at the United Methodist Church of Wilton. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 20, 2025 at the church. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton. Memorials may be made to Wilton First Responders or the Wilton Trap Team. Online condolences may be left at www.bentleyfuneralhome.com.

Brent was born on September 13, 1959, the son of Earl "Butch" and Kathryn (Butterfield) Marks in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Wilton High School with the Class of 1977. Brent married Deanna Drumm on March 19, 1983 in the United Methodist Church of Wilton.

Brent will be remembered as a devoted husband and the steadfast foundation of his family. For 44 years, he worked at Gerdau Wilton Steel Mill, where his strong work ethic and commitment earned him deep respect. Fearless in spirit and unwavering in strength, Brent was truly the backbone and rock of his family. To those who knew him best, Brent was the person you could always count on - steady, loyal, and dependable.

Brent loved spending time outdoors and found joy in the simple, rugged beauty of nature. Whether riding his Harley, camping, hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, or boating, he embraced every adventure. His attention to detail was unmatched- his family fondly referred to his high expectations as the "Brent Standard". Family was the center of Brent's life and he rarely missed a family event or opportunity to be surrounded by those he loved most. Some of his happiest moments were spent on "The Farm," where laughter and togetherness created memories that will last forever.

Brent will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Deanna; two sons, Jared (Carmen) Marks and Kyle (Brittany) Marks, both of Wilton; four grandchildren, Lydia, Rhett, Caleb, and Jacob; a sister, Cindy (Jim) Gavin of Wilton; brothers, Curtis (Cathy) Marks of Fort Myers, Fla. and Jim (Angie) Marks of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; his father and mother in-law, Paul and Janet Drumm; sister in-law, Paula (Tom) Sheets; brother in-law, Jeff (Jean) Drumm; and many nieces and nephews.

Brent was preceded in death by his parents, Butch and Kate Marks; a sister in-law, Marcia Hetzler.

My deepest sympathies to the Marks families! I first met Brent in the earlier 80's when he bought my 260Z Datsun. What a gentleman! We would always tease each other by saying " I should have never sold that car!"
God bless him, he will be missed by all who knew him!
