Carol Doyle Obituary

Carol Ann Doyle passed away on September 4, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida, at Community Hospice after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.

Born on October 26, 1938, in Hartford, Connecticut, Carol graduated from Buckley High School and began her working life as a telephone operator. Over the years, she took on various roles in the cities where she and her family lived. Yet among all her pursuits, she most cherished the time spent caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

On October 6, 1962, Carol married Glenn Doyle. They shared 55 years of marriage until his passing in 2018. Together, they raised four children and built a life filled with love and adventure. In 2012, they relocated to Florida after many years in Moline, Illinois, drawn by the opportunity to help care for one of their great-grandchildren.

Carol found joy in traveling with her family, taking her grandchildren on summer vacations and later traveling with her great-grandchildren. She had a fondness for birthday cake on any occasion and enjoyed cooking new recipes. In recent years, she could often be found coloring on her iPad, solving fill-in puzzles, playing Tiddlywinks with her great-grandchildren, or watching collegiate sports, the WNBA, tennis, and QVC.

She leaves behind four children: Susan Benson of Washington; Timothy Doyle (Stephanie) of Oklahoma; Kevin Doyle (Stacie) of Virginia; and Brent Doyle (Lori) of Illinois; along with six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband Glenn; her parents Joseph and Juanita Damotta; her brother Joseph; and sisters Joan and Nita.

A celebration of life will be held on October 5, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 601 Airport Center Dr. E., Jacksonville, Florida. A reception will follow in the parish hall.

In a final act of generosity, Carol donated her body to science. Her memory lives on in all who knew and loved her.
