Connie L. Engholm
July 15, 1955 - July 27, 2024
Connie L. Engholm, 69, of Moline, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024, at UP Trinity, Rock Island.
Visitation will be 12:00 - 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 5, 2024, at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St A, Moline. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Moline.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Steam on Wheels in Bettendorf.
Connie was born July 15, 1955, in Moline, the daughter of Ray and Joyce (VandeCasteele) Ullmark. Connie graduated in 1973 from JD Darnall High School, Geneseo and attended Black Hawk College. She retired from John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline, and prior worked at John Deere PDC, Milan. She also worked for the UAW and the Alliance in Chicago, Washington DC, and Columbus, OH.
She married Larry Engholm and while the marriage didn't last, she forged her family with love of her two stepdaughters. Survivors include her daughters: Annette (Damian) Morris, Rock Island, and Tina (Chris) Cason, Port Byron; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Beth Ullmark, Davenport; and brothers: Randy (Pam) Ullmark, Cambridge, and Brian (Dawn) Ullmark, San Jose, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Connie lived her life fully - she didn't do anything halfway. She threw all of her passion into politics and supported local democratic candidates and had such pride serving as a delegate at the 1996 Democratic Convention.
She was a passionate artist making beautiful watercolors and other pieces. She was always shocked when someone would compliment her art but her beautiful heart always shined through that paint.
Mostly she had a passionate mother's heart and she loved fiercely. She loved her daughters, their children, her daughter's friends, her grandchildren's friends, her nieces and nephews, her friend's children, and especially her great-grandchildren. If you were ever a child within sight of Connie at any time of her life, you felt the full-force of her love. And that love will be wrapped around all of those children throughout their own lives. She signed everything xoxo and she would want to be known and emulated for sharing that love. Be kind.
