Diana died peacefully, Monday, October 13, 2025, at Senior Star, Davenport following a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends at the time of her passing.

Diana Lee McCoy was born on July 13, 1947, a daughter of Vinal O. and Vivian M. (Reding) McCoy. She had many fond memories of growing up in Iowa Falls, Iowa. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in education and always remained a loyal Hawkeye supporter! While at Iowa, she met the love of her life, Jerry Vollbeer and they were married on August 14, 1971, in Iowa Falls. Jerry preceded Diana in death on March 2, 2022.

Following graduation, Diana taught school in Belle Plain and Camanche before beginning a family with Jerry. They were very proud of their sons, Jake, Troy, and Scott. Diana cherished being a mother and grandmother, never missing an opportunity to support her sons or grandchildren at their activities and events.

Diana also loved music and the theater and in her younger years was very active in Countryside Community Theater and in North Scott Theater. She enjoyed reading, taking walks, and traveling with her different groups of friends. Diana was devoted to her Catholic faith and was a longtime member of St. Ann's where she served as a cantor and Eucharistic minister. She was also an avid volunteer in the North Scott Community, especially with the North Scott Educational Foundation and Humble Dwellings.

Survivors include her sons, Jake Vollbeer, Cary, Ill., Troy (Kari Jewell) Vollbeer, Maysville, and Scott (Kristina) Vollbeer, Eldridge; grandchildren, Dylan, Addison, Emily, Andrew, James, and Ella; brothers and sisters, Larry McCoy, Texas, Donna (Pete) Walmsley, Calif., Nell (Brian) Burt, Colo., and Bill (Sherry Wohlers) McCoy, Eldridge; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Fred and Nancy Vollbeer, Ga.; and many nieces; and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Jerry; Diana was preceded in death by her parents. May they rest in peace.
