Donald E. Miner, 86, of Naples, Fla., passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in his favorite setting at home in Naples, Fla.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St A, Moline. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 6 p.m. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Shriners Children's Hospital.
Donald was born December 17, 1938, in Moline, the son of Bert and Lillian (DePooter) Miner. He married Cicely Ryker on December 19, 1959, in Moline.
On Donald's 17th birthday, he registered for the Army reserves, where he served honorably for eight years.
Donald retired from International Navistar in 1993, after 30 years of combined service with Farmall Rock Island and Navistar in Indianapolis.
Donald was a member of the Rock Island Conservation Club, Moline Lodge 1014 and later Doric Lodge #319. He was a Mason and past Master at Scottish Rite where he served as Sovereign Prince, 32nd Degree Mason, Consistory and Eastern Star.
During Donald's retirement, he was a happy member and the treasurer for the Friend Circle club in Moline.
Donald enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, golfing, and gardening. He loved sharing his walleye catch with family, neighbors, and friends, often.
Survivors include his wife, Cicely; children, Timothy (Lynn) Miner, Moline, Donald (Linda) Miner, Jr, Moline, Marcy (Dr. Alan) Phillips, Monmouth, Ill., Mary-Ann (Lynn) Dowell, Taylor Ridge, Ill., and David Miner (Steve Molsling), Naples, Fla; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Samuelson, Moline, Marilyn VanTieghem, Moline, and Cecelia (Richard) McAllister, East Moline; and sister-in-law, Sharon (Dave) Morvay, Carson City, Nev. He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Jon Miner.

Cecily, I don´t know if you remember me but I went by Robin when I was little. I remember you and Donnie as friends of my parents Dale and Donna. I always thought Donnie was so cute, I thought he looked like Jimmy Dean lol. I am also best friends with Jodi Guinn. Please accept my sincere condolences on you loss.
