Donna Bunch Obituary

Donna Marie Bunch

June 27, 1951 - November 7, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Donna Marie Bunch, 74 of Davenport, Iowa on Friday, November 7, 2025. In a single moment, her pain ended and she was taken away to be with Jesus. We know she is in a better place, but her absence has left a hole in our hearts.

Donna was a Navy brat born in Newfoundland, Canada on June 27, 1951 to parents Arlon and Mary Prince. She was a devoted Christian who loved Jesus and a loving mother and grandmother who selflessly put her family first. She was generous, kind, loyal, and fiercely protective of all in her circle of influence. She would travel the country in support of her children and grandchildren, priding herself on being present for every event. She never missed a touchdown, homerun, wrestling match, volleyball or basketball game, cheerleading competition, dance recital, or body building competition. Her bias retellings of events were legendary as we always managed to be the superstars in her eyes.

She was a surrogate mother and grandmother to many known only as Mema. However, her greatest passion was her knowledge of The King James 1611 Bible and her love for Jesus Christ. She never backed down from an opportunity to share the gospel with anyone and was recognized around the community as the lady with the Christian bumper stickers on the car. She left gospel tracks everywhere she went and longed for everyone who crossed her path to hear the good news of Jesus Christ.

Donna graduated from Davenport West High School in 1969 and was married in her senior year of high school to her husband Earl before he was shipped to Vietnam. She worked at the Salvation Army and babysat before becoming a professional house cleaner for 20 years. In retirement she was also her grandkids babysitter so her daughter could work. Donna was a passionate and gifted Christian poet who wrote thousands of poems. Her legacy is knowing she instilled Christian values in her family and she always reminded us, "If you can't say something nice about someone, then don't say it at all!" These words of wisdom were called silver boxes.

Those family members left behind include her husband, Earl, Davenport; children and their spouses, Earl "Motor" (Jennifer) Bunch III, Davenport, Terri (Michael) Beebe, Davenport; grandchildren, Earl "Brady" Bunch IV, Davenport, Tatum Bunch, Davenport, Zane Beebe, Davenport, Cael Beebe, Iowa City; father, Arlon Prince, Pensacola, Florida; siblings and spouses, Darlene (Steve) Morris, Pensacola, Florida, Arlon (Theresa) Prince, Pensacola, Florida, Debbie Prince, Pensacola, Florida; sister-in-law, Dar Swimm, Milan; brother-in-law, Roy Bunch; and many nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Prince; sibling, Dorothy West; sisters-in-law, Judy Woodrum and Terisa Bunch; and nieces, Kim Barrett and Donna Newland. May they all be waiting for us in heaven when our time comes to reunite.

A visitation will be held at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf on Wednesday, November 19th from 4:00-6:00 p.m., with a service immediately following at 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to either of her favorite preachers, Robert Breaker or Spencer Smith.
