Gwendolyn "Eulalia" Lord, 98, of Moline, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025, at her home.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Friday, November 21, 2025, at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St A, Moline, with visitation one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Private burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the ARC of the Quad Cities, Rock Island, or American Cancer Society.

Eulalia was born April 18, 1927, in Quincy, Ill., the youngest of seven children of Ray and Rose (Roy) Vering.

Eulalia was an infant when her family moved West, eventually to Berkeley, Calif. There she attended school and graduated from Berkeley High, where she served as President of the Girls Athletic Association. She attended San Francisco State University, was a founding member of Kappa Theta sorority and it was where she met her husband, Walter Harmon Lord. They were married nearly 67 years until he passed in 2014.

Eulalia and Walter moved from the Bay Area to Moline in 1956, due to his transfer from the John Deere San Francisco branch office to work at the company headquarters. They met many of their lifelong friends through Welcome Wagon and Newcomers Club.

Eulalia was an avid Bridge player, volunteered for numerous charitable organizations, including the American Cancer Society and the Sheltered Workshop, and was active in her church, Broadway Presbyterian. She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, and golf, recording a hole-in-one while playing her husband and son.

She is survived by her children, Rodrick (Sandy) Lord, Rock Island, and Waikanae, New Zealand, Margaret (Richard) Spitznas, Puyallup, Wash., Cynthia Corkery, Moline, and Nancy (Tom) Welty, Big Lake, Minn.; grandchildren, including Kathryn Bopes Miklas, Pepperell, Mass., Zoë Lord, Mill Valley, Calif., Benjamin Bopes, Moline, and Sophie Lord, Wellington, New Zealand; and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter; daughter, Maribeth Bopes; sons-in-law, David Corkery and Greg Bopes; and her siblings.
